Ask the proprietor to carry Fence if you don't see it in stock. #40 is the first issue at long last crafted entirely under the editorial oversight, ideas, and deep collaboration of co-directors Emily Wallis Hughes and Jason Zuzga. See if you think these two can keep this up. There is a new translation section along with an introduction and a raucous forum overseen by #40 and #41 Visiting Editor Edgar Garcia.

Ron Silliman, a contributor to Fence #39, says: "For two dozen years, Fence has been one of the primary journals of poetry and literature in the United States. Perhaps because it started with a plague-on-both-your-houses approach to American literary formations, it has manifested a post-tendency 21st-century perspective with both openness and nuance. It’s pretty much perfect for these times."

Issue #40 ERRATA:

The lineation of the Blunt Research Group's contribution to the print forum, "from logophobe" on pages 205-210 is incorrect in the printed issue. The work with the correct pagination and lineation can be read as intended HERE. 

Maureen N. McLane's contribution to the print forum, the poem "Inventory" on page 195, is incorrectly attributed to Jennifer Nelson.
