Late Afternoon

Florence Kindel

Abstinence from mask making continues
Don’t turn back just yet
I flung my scissors over the pole lamp
Playing with reversible shadows
That stuck to me
Rubber cement problems must be solved
Later looking at the evening sun
A god peeked out from behind it
It was the littlest thing
And soon a second little one
Sat at my kitchen table smiling
