“Oracular Writing is a creative practice rooted in principles of observation, inquiry, and encounter. I developed this workshop at the University of Arizona Poetry Center in 2008 and continued to teach it in several evolving variations until 2016, when I began to hold small group sessions and individual consults through my website. Oracular Writing focuses on sustainable process and manifestation, as can only be reached through radical presence. In this private session, participants will be given a tailored inquiry relatedto their craft. I will offer a specific commission grounded in oracular principles, a “reading” of personal obstruction, and guidance to completion or revision. We will review the writing process in terms of relationship dynamics and be introduced to methods of image amplification. We will conduct an investigation of qualities in order to initiate an immersive, contemplative relationship with the images in our work and in our lives.”
