»» Worked closely with Fence bookkeeper and retired CPA, Lisa Borello, to improve organization of Fence finances.
»» Secured $30,000 in 2023 NYSCA grant funds.
»» Applied to multiple 2023 grants: NEA, NYSCA, CLMP Capacity Building (we were not, this time, awarded a 2023 NEA grant. The CLMP grant decision will come in mid-January).
»» Secured two new volunteer interns who have begun working with Jason and Emily.
»» Secured a Rutgers New-Brunswick funded PhD student summer 2023 intern.
»» Conducted a full by-hand inventory of the books in the storage unit in Hudson, New York.
»» Mailed many membership packages, books, and issues of Fence via Fence direct distribution.
»» And we are grateful for a direct contribution from artist Richard Prince, which brought our fundraising total during the Fence Art + Experience Auction to $37,000. The funds raised through the auction enabled us to fulfill our fall publication plans, pay for the printing of 2022 Fence Modern Poets Prize-winner Kenneth Reveiz’s Mopes: A Book of Poems in Three Acts, paid staff, and set aside funds for the printing and shipping of Fence issue #40.
